AMS Visits Wilmington for StormFest

The 5th annual StormFest was held at the Cape Fear Musuem in downtown Wilmington this past Saturday(06/21). Student AMS members, meteorology students and an employee from the State Climate Office helped run the booth. We had a great turnout, with people stopping by during the whole event and plenty of interest in items on our table. Thanks to the State Climate Office, we are able to give away a brand new raingauge to a lucky StormFest attendee. Several broadcast meteorologists had seminars during the event, with some of the topics including, Social Media interactions with the weather, The Big North Carolina Storms, as well as a presentation about Hurricane Hazel, Hugo and Floyd.

Don't forget to follow us on Twitter for updates on our club and where we go.
