Adopt-A-Family
Everyone loves the holidays, full of love, time with family, good food and presents!! But what about families that might not be able to afford the luxuries of the holidays? Each fall the Club adopts a needy family. At Thanksgiving, all the necessities for a traditional meal are provided for the family. A few weeks later, a Christmas tree is brought in, along with presents for the children. There's nothing as rewarding as seeing kids put up a tree and open presents!

Unit Clean Up
The management of all the livestock units at the University Field Labs have been very supportive of the Animal Science Club for many years. As a way to give back to the units, members joined an effort to improve the general appearance of the units by picking up trash, planting flowers, rearranging unused equipment and storage areas, etc.
Relay for Life
Relay for Life is an overnight event designed to raise money for research and support of program efforts of the American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Relay for Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated.
Equine Rescue League
The purpose of the North Carolina Equine Rescue League is to take in abused and neglected horses and work with them physically and mentally in hopes of finding them a new home. This organization is constantly in need of supplies and volunteers. Members of the Animal Science Club have donated supplies to the organization and have volunteered their time to help rehabilitate the horses.
