The
College
of
Management Ambassadors
organization was founded in 2001, and has been
supporting both current and prospective management
students, faculty, and the community ever since.
Comprised of approximately 30 students in the
areas of business management, accounting, and economics,
the Ambassadors are constantly providing for and
representing the
College
of
Management
to the fullest.
The
Ambassadors serve their fellow students through hosting
bi-annual Dean’s List parties, participating in the
First
-Year
College
Fair, aiding with the Wachovia Lectures as student
liaisons, and assisting with graduations.
Ambassadors
promote the
College
of
Management
by facilitating ‘Make a Date with State’, which is a
program that allows prospective students to take tours
of the University and see all of the benefits that the
College
of
Management
has to offer them. Along
with developing the ‘Make a Date with State’
program, the Ambassadors partake in the North Carolina
State University Open House.
The
COM faculty are another recipient of the Ambassadors'
services. Ambassadors
sponsor faculty mixers throughout the year, using the
Faculty Breakfast and Doughnuts with the Dean to better
foster faculty-student relations.
Ambassadors
are always searching for new ways to give back to the
community. Ways
that they help include: Habitat for Humanity, formal
university ceremonies - including that of the naming of
the Jenkins Graduate Business Program, and donating
money for cancer research.
The community is a main focus of the Ambassadors
as they further impact the local surroundings by lending
a helping hand at the Fred Old’s Fall Festival and
Raleigh Angel Tree Projects.
Through
a four-prong strategy of impact including community
awareness, faculty appreciation, education prospective
students, and liaisons for current students, this
organization is the face of the
College
of
Management
. It offers
great opportunities to hone networking skills and
further develop business etiquette in a friendly
environment. These
students continue to propel the college to the next
level and to change the air of the college as they grow
and develop into the faces of the business world. |
