The Entomolgy Graduate Student Association (EGSA) is a social and service organization. It provides a forum for students to develop professional, organizational and social skills while generating constructive programs within the Department of Entomology. EGSA membership is open to all graduate and undergraduate students with an interest in entomology. Meetings are held approximately once a month. Members annually elect a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. Through the EGSA, students are represented in several departmental committees: the curriculum committee, outreach committee, computer committee, museum committee, and social committee.

EGSA receives money from the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and through its own fund-raisers. Funds support various social events, such as spring and fall picnics, and academic pursuits, such as the Mike Duke Memorial Seminar.

EGSA is constantly striving to present entomology to the general public and give members public speaking experience through an active outreach effort conducted in schools, summer camps, special education programs, and other events.

Finally, EGSA provides unity and cohesion to a diverse department. It brings fellow students together to share experience and lend support in the pursuit of a common goal of academic and personal growth.
