Horseman's Youth Day 2008
Join us at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine for a day of education and fun!
Saturday, March 8, 2008 from 9 AM - 4 PM
This full day of equine-oriented activities is designed to give kids and teens, ages 9 - 18, a hands-on look at anatomy, physiology, and veterinary care for horses. Participants will be grouped by age and will rotate throughout the school, visiting many different activity stations. Requests for participants to be in the same group will not be honored.
Planned activities include:
- A tour of the large animal hospital
- How to perform a physical exam on your horse (live horse activity)
- A look at equine anatomy in the vet school anatomy lab (skeletons, intestinal models, etc.)
- How to age your horse by his teeth
- Preventative medicine
- Basic lameness
- Plus many more!
Breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as a goody bag.

We will have additional signage up the day of the event to help with parking and going into the building.
