Horseman's Youth Day 2009

Join us at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine for a day of education and fun!

Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 9 AM - 4 PM

This full day of equine-oriented activities is designed to give kids and teens, ages 9 - 18, a hands-on look at anatomy, physiology, and veterinary care for horses. Participants will be grouped by age and will rotate throughout the school, visiting many different activity stations.

Planned activities include:

  • A tour of the large animal hospital
  • How to perform a physical exam on your horse (live horse activity)
  • A look at equine anatomy in the vet school anatomy lab (skeletons, intestinal models, etc.)
  • How to age your horse by his teeth
  • Preventative medicine
  • Basic lameness
  • Plus many more!

Breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as a goody bag and T-shirt.

The registration fee is $50 per child.
