About the Club
Practices are held on Mondays and Wednsdays from 7:15pm to 9:00pm at Carmichael Gym in the fencing room. Additional and optional practices will be announced at regular meetings. Extra practices and tournaments are commonly held on weekends. Practices before large tournaments will usually be more focused on preparing competing fencers for the upcomming event.
General Breakdown of Practice:
- 7:15 - 8:00 : Conditioning and Footwork drills
- 8:00 - 9:00 : Bladework drills
- 9:00 - closing : Free Bouting (approved fencers only)
The Fencing Club at NC State and its members participate in competitions across the state and even beyond. We've attended and fenced in tournaments in everywhere from local gyms and universities to out-of-state schools like Clemson, University of Maryland, and Virginia Tech!
