Shack-a-Thon Meeting

What is shack a thon?
-
Build shacks in the brickyard to raise money for habitat
-
16 shacks built and run by student organizations
-
The top four from the previous year get free wood provided by habitat
-
-
An informational meeting will be held after the All-Campus meeting on August 27th
-
During the bidding the top 11 bidders will get a shack
-
Multiple organizations may team together to put in a larger bid
-
The bids can add up from previous years
-
-
Construction of the shacks takes place on Sunday
-
The habitat shack will be built on Saturday
-
During the build day members of habitat will assist other clubs during construction of their shacks
-
Works Projects is currently updating the shack-a-thon rules
-
Painting will be more regulated this year including painting tarps to prevent paint on the bricks
-

During the week the organizations panhandle for money
-
There must be one person in the shack at all times and at least 2 must spend the night in the shack
-
The wood pile and whack-a-shack will be roped off
-
Closed toed shoes must be worn during construction and deconstruction
-
Deconstruction will begin at 9 am on Friday
-
More restrictions will be placed on the vehicles allowed in the brickyard
-
At least 1 habitat officer and 2 other members must be in the shack at all times
-
Sign up for the habitat shack for officers will be during the 1st all campus meeting
