The Publicity Committee is one of the more active committees in the NC State University Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Our job is to inform those on campus and in the surrounding community of NCSU Habitat events and activities.
We chalk campus for meetings, paint the tunnel for Shack-A-Thon, arrange press coverage for major events, and work with local businesses to supply our operations with paint, chalk, and other necessary materials.
The main thing we need help with is advertisement on campus. This includes chalking and writing on marker boards. We encourage you to be creative with this; it makes it a lot more fun.
But that is not all we do. During Shack-A-Thon, committee members contacted the media and local businesses to enlist their help in the event.
We are always looking for new ideas for publicizing the club and our activities, so feel free to make suggestions. Finding ways to simply remind people on campus that we are here is something we would love to accomplish in between All-Campus Meetings.
How can you help out the publicity committee? How can you join? Email David Rochette and Chris Dulin and let them know that you are interested and they'll get you started.
Chris DulinMy name is Christopher R. Dulin and I am a senior in Mechanical Engineering. I do a lot up here at State. I try to go to the gym Monday through Friday and run everyday. I am the Managing Editor for the Broadside Magazine. I am a 24 addict. I can kinda play the piano, guitar, and violin. I'm the webmaster for the NCSU College Republicans--I suppose I am closer to the Libertarians than any other party, but I think all politicians are a little off. I was big in ROTC in High School and College, and I was going to join the Air Force, but they won't let me. That's about it.
Oh, yeah! I am the Publicity Officer for Habitat for Humanity and I try to make it to most of the workdays. I have been with Habitat for a few years and it has become my stress relief. If you are interested in helping the Publicity Committee spread the message, shoot me an email; I usually respond pretty quickly.
As to the peanut butter and fluff debate. Creamy>Crunchy. Fluff>Jelly.
