IVSA Funding
To be considered for funding you must be an IVSA member seeking international veterinary experience.
Application Process Applications are available in the IVSA Club mailbox. Read instructions carefully as incomplete applications will not be considered. If you have questions, please contact Amanda Floerchinger, Class of 2009. Application submission deadline for spring semester is April 11th 2007 at 5:00pm. Funding will be awarded during the first week of selectives.
How Funding is Awarded Funding is awarded based on a point system. Members earn points by volunteering in IVSA activities. The more active you are, the more points you collect. Only the top 15 members will be awarded funding due to budget constraints. You can carry over 50% of your points from one year to the next.
Giving Back Students who are awarded funding are required to present their experiences at an IVSA lunch meeting the semester following their travel. You are also required to put together a powerpoint presentation for use in the IVSA room of the vet school library. In the presentation, please include where you went, what you did, contact information, how you organized your trip, local information, such as dress requirements, food, customs, safety, etc., your funding sources, anything else you feel may be useful to future veterinary travelers. Submit your labeled powerpoint CD or DVD to Meghan Ellis, Class of 2008. The deadline for powerpoint submission for students who received funding last fall or over winter break is March 30th.
