What is Maitri?
MAITRI is the Indian Graduate Student Association at North Carolina State University. We function as an organization that provides a focal point for interaction of students from India, preserving our Indian ways while seeking to build on them.
What can Maitri do for you?
Maitri's primary role as envisioned by its founding members was to facilitate the settling in of new students coming from India every semester. The objective is to provide the new student a guarantee of an airport pickup and accommodation for the first few days until he or she finds a place to move in to. We still consider it to be critical and aim to fulfill it. So if you are planning to come to NC State, be assured that you will be met at the airport by a couple of smiling faces! Other than that Maitri also organizes social events like Holi Hungama, Diwali Dhamaka, Ice Breaker, etc and sport activities.
What can you do for Maitri?
Once you are at NC State you can become a member of Maitri. The membership of Maitri is open to all students at NC State. Maitri membership will entitle you to receive mails about functions and events organized or supported by Maitri. The one-time membership fee is a nominal $10 for all NCSU students. Once a member you can get involved in whatever small way you can. Even if you are not a member and are in touch with Maitri for rides, housing etc, be assured that we will be there for you. Trust Us!
