The History of the Wolfpack Majorettes
The Wolfpack Majorettes have been performing for appreciative NC State University fans for decades. During every home football game, the majorettes can be seen dazzling crowds of more than 60,000 with their amazing baton twirling abilities. With their red, sparkling costumes and their gleaming, silver batons, the majorettes have become a proud tradition of Wolfpack football.
Through the years, the Wolfpack Majorettes have performed many times off campus as well. They have performed in the Peach Bowl, the Hall of Fame Bowl, the Gator Bowl and the Tangerine Bowl. They have also performed at several NFL games for teams including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Carolina Panthers.
The Wolfpack Majorettes have also been very successful in baton twirling competitions across the country. The majorettes were the 2006 NCABT Intercollegiate Grand Champion Team. Next year, the majorettes would like to continue their competition success by competing at AYOP. AYOP (America's Youth on Parade) is a national baton twirling competition held at Notre Dame University in July of each year.
