The College of Management Peer Leaders are comprised of a group of about 40 sophomores, juniors, and seniors who exhibit exceptional leadership skills at
NC State University.  After a selection process which involves an application and group interview, each leader is required to take a one-credit-hour leadership course. The Peer Leaders assist the College of Management and the first-year students enrolled in a variety of ways, including...

maintaining a Peer Leader office where students can come to ask questions, get assistance, and get advice
planning and organization of a Freshman Welcome Party in August
participating in Management 100 and informing students about campus events
inviting new students personally to College of Management events and other campus activities throughout the year
planning and organization of an Out-Of-State Student Event
assisting students with the registration process
planning and organization of a Freshman Party in the fall
homecoming
events, including a cookie-selling competition
assisting the College of Management Ambassadors with "Make A Date With State" for accepted students
recruiting and interviewing new members for Peer Leaders

The Peer Leaders work closely with the Deans, academic advisors, faculty and staff to help ease the transition from high school to a college environment for all of the college's first-year students.  Each leader is encouraged to come up with ideas and programs that will improve the College of Management and the rich tradition that the young college holds.  Many of these ideas have been put into action, ranging from improved social events to new classes and building improvements.

Recruiting for new Peer Leaders takes place in the spring semester each year. The application, along with other important information will be posted on this website in during recruiting.
