The Philosophy Club's Student Research Colloquium is a project by the club to
encourage student research into philosophical issues and their application to real life.
In this project, the Club will organize a series of thematic presentations. The themes currently
arranged are:
History of Philosophy
Contemporary Philosophy
Ethics
Students who present papers at our colloquium are encouraged to apply for admission to similar such colloquia at other philosophy departments. If any presenters' papers are selected for presentation at another department, the Club will provide limited funding to the the student to help defray any travel costs.
The themes of the colloquia are chosen to coordinate with the writing courses required of all philosophy majors (PHI494, 495 and 496), but we also encourage all students participating in special research activities to contact us. We would like to organize further presentations, and will choose additional themes that suit each participant's submission.
