Active Status Reports

Past Events - Fall 2006

- Dog Wash Fundraiser: Hopefully an annual event, the dog wash took place at The College of Veterinary Medicine.
Above and to the left, a group of members volunteer their time to bathe a dog at the dog competition. To the left, Amber and other members of the club work on the schedule of dogs that signed up for their bath.
 

 

 

 


- Horseback Riding: We find a relaxing afternoon riding horses in the woods is a great way to meet get to know each
   other, and those first time riders really seemed to enjoy it!

- Halloween at the Zoo: a fun service event that our club chose to participate in for 2006. Some members were goblins, ghosts, wolfs, or vampires and victims. Others helped with face painting or refreshments.

- Fall Active Member Dinner: Members are rewarded for becoming an active member throughout the semester with a free meal at a local restaurant.

Spring 2007 Semester:

 

 

- SCAVMA Symposium: As a club, we were invited by NCSU CVM to help will various activities during the SCAVMA Symposium. Members were give the opportunity of meeting with veterinary students from all over the nation, as well as providing introductions of professors at the symposium.

- Ag Awareness Week: We, as an agricultural club, use this week to educate other NCSU students about the importance of agriculture in society. Our booth specifically provides information to prospective members so they may learn about our club and what we do. Our new board this year looked quite impressive.

- Service Raleigh: 10th annual Service Raleigh! As a group, we worked at the girl's club of Wake County helping clean out their warehouse, deciphering trash from treasure. We finished after a long yet rewarding morning.

Yet, as we piled into Reynolds Coliseum before hearing opening presentations, as can be seen to the right, our fun started as early as 8am.

 

 

 

 

- Car Wash: Our fundraising chair, Leslie, organized a carwash for a spring fundraising event. We earned over $330 washing a total of 30 cars throughout the morning and afternoon.
