Costs
It is the goal of SATELLITE staff to keep costs as low as possible. Housing will be provided by University Housing. In past years, the majority of transportation was accomplished through the NC State Wolfline, a free service, and Capital Area Transit. Food was purchased/donated from local vendors such as SubWay, Taco Bell, Amedeo’s, Domino’s, Food Lion, and Sam’s Club.
As Satellite continues to grow, support has increased tremendously. Vendors like Food Lion and Domino’s provided us with generous discounts and donations. It is a goal of 2012 to put a great deal of effort into securing even more donations and discounts from vendors thus decreasing the cost of food for Satellite.
Entertainment included a trip to Hillsborough Street Bowling Alley. Insurance was provided through NC State. Program Supplies include application printing, postage, letterhead, flyers, and brochures. For the week of camp, supplies also include schedule printing, nametags, t-shirts, certificates, egg drop and ropes course materials. NC State faculty members volunteer their time and many materials to provide free workshops for the Satellite program.
