North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine ............................... Welcomes You To SAVMA Symposium 2007
The College of Veterinary Medicine is an integral component of what makes North Carolina State University a nationally recognized leader in science and technology. Established in 1978, the college, including its many research facilities and world class Veterinary Teaching Hospital, houses over four hundred DVM and graduate students. It is ranked among the top four colleges of veterinary medicine in the nation and provides many unique opportunities in education and research.
Built on one hundred and eighty acres, the College maintains a working farm with dairy and beef cattle, horses, swine, large ruminants, and poultry allowing the students to gain hands on, practical experience in food animal medicine. This unique educational attribute strongly compliments the in-class lectrures taught by distinguished faculty and the experiences gained in the large and small animal Veterinary Teaching Hospitals.
The Symposium Committee, formed in January 2005, and the entire NC State CVM student body are extremely thrilled to be given this opportunity to host SAVMA Symposium 2007. We welcome the chance to have veterinary students from across the nation, as well as international students, gather in Raleigh to experience some of our southern hospitality.
Shooting for highest participation yet...
The Symposium Committee hopes to see veterinary students from all over attend this symposium in record numbers. Make sure you visit this website often to stay abreast of additions to the event, lecture and wetlab schedules. As veterinary students we are experiencing an enormous amount of stress in the form of our crazy schedules, more information to absorb than ever before and flux in our curriculums. The very face of veterinary medicine is rapidly changing. All of these stress factors makes participation in organized veterinary medicine more important now than ever before. Join us here in Raleigh to learn about how organized veterinary medicine can benefit you as a student and a professional. Investigate commonalities and differences amongst the different colleges, as well as participate in competitions, enjoy fantastic food and generally just have a great time. Considering doing an internship or residency? This is the perfect time to check out the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at NCSU CVM and get the inside scoop before having to enter the match. Whether you have never been to a symposium, or you are a three time veteran we promise that this symposium will be unique and very worth your while.
