Come learn to dance and meet new people!

Membership in our club is as easy as coming to one of our weekly beginner lessons.  Beginner lessons are held every Wednesday at 7:30pm in Carmichael Gym Rm.# 2307 (Dance Studio).  The lessons are open to NC State students, faculty, and staff (a valid gym pass is needed to enter the gym).  Beginner lessons are free and no partner is necessary.  Just come on time wearing casual clothing (no need to get all dressed up) and shoes with smooth bottoms.  If your shoes mark the floor, you will be asked to take them off.  If you're uncertain, bring your dress shoes and a pair of socks (lots of people wear just socks on the floor).  In any case, we'll get you dancing!!!

What do you do when you come to a Wednesday night lesson?  First of all, please fill out a participation waiver.  The likelihood of getting hurt while dancing is much smaller than in other physical activities, but there is still a chance, so please fill one out before stepping onto the floor for the first time.  The participation waiver only needs to be signed once per semester.  The next thing to do is to sign the attendance.  If it's your first time, fill your name into an empty row.  If you've been to a lesson before, find you name on the list and place a check for the appropriate date.  After signing the attendance, it's time to get on the floor!

The dances that we may teach are social dances (Swing, Salsa, Merengue, Polka, and Hustle), latin dances (Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Jive, and Paso Doble), and standard dances (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep, and Viennese Waltz).
