Article I: Name & Purpose
Section I
This organization shall be known as the Society of Paganism & Magick.
Section II
The purpose of this organization shall be to exchange information
and promote understanding of paganism and magikal arts, and to act as a
support group for those who have had negative experiences from or for being
pagans. This club does not support or condone the practice of magick and/or
rituals for the purpose of harming others for harm's sake.
Article II: Membership
Section I
Membership shall be open to any interested party sympathetic to the purpose
of the society.
Section II
Active membership shall be defined on an individual basis by the Council.
Article III: Officers
Section I
The elective officers of this society shall be Moderator, Vice-President,
Secretary, Treasurer, Librarian, and Guardian. The Council shall
be made up of these six officers with the last position being optional.
Section II
The officers shall be elected by majority vote to serve a term of one semester.
Section III
All officers of this society shall be in good academic standing with
the university.
Article IV: Powers of the Officers
Section I
The Moderator shall have the power to:
-Preside at general meetings
-Serve as liaison to other organizations
-Serve as direct contact for the general public interest
-Be an ex-officio member of all committees
-Be responsible for decisions and delegation of authority when
the general body is unavailable and report all actions at the next
general meeting.
-Perform any other duties as assigned by the Council
Section II
The Vice-President shall have the power to:
-Preside at general meetings in the absence of the Moderator
-Serve as liaison to other organizations
-Be an ex-officio member of all committees
-Help coordinate time, date and location of all programs and projects
-Perform any other duties as assigned by the Council
Section III
The Secretary shall have the power to:
-Serve as liaison to other organizations
-Be an ex-officio member of all committees
-Keep minutes of each meeting
-Perform necessary correspondence
-Oversee all educational projects and scheduling
-Perform any other duties as assigned by the Council
Section IV
The Treasurer shall have the power to:
-Serve as liaison to other organizations
-Be an ex-officio member of all committees
-Be responsible for and keep records of all financial transaction of
the club
-Perform any other duties as assigned by the Council
Section V
The Librarian shall have the power to:
-Serve as liaison to other organizations
-Be an ex-officio member of all committees
-Keep a current membership list of all officers and general members
-Perform any other duties as assigned by the Council
Section VI
The Guardian shall have the power to:
-Spot problems and help keep the society on track
-Perform any other duties as assigned by the Council
Article V: Amending the Constitution
Section I
Amendments to the constitution shall be presented in writing by
members and read at the regularly scheduled meeting but shall not be
voted on until the next regularly scheduled meeting. An amendment can be
voted on only if each member has access to a copy of the proposed amendment
and two-thirds of the active membership and at least one Guardian is presend
and voting.
Section II
The constitution of the society shall be amended by a two-thirds
majority vote of the membership if the proper procedure has been followed.
Article VI: Meetings
Section I
The society shall meet as determined by the membership each semester.
