Spring Blackout Week
April 3rd - April 7th, 2006

CONCERT LOCATION HAS CHANGED!
(see below)

Continuing a tradition begun in Fall 2005, SSE will host its second Blackout Week this Spring. The Blackout is a week-long series of events that encourage students, faculty, and staff to turn off the lights in their dorms, classrooms, and offices and get involved in activities on campus. SSE will be hosting three major events during the week, each of which is aimed at raising awareness of energy conservation issues on campus.

Tues., April 4th - 10:00am to 2:00pm
SSE on the Brickyard
We'll be on the Brickyard to promote the weeks events, and to get signatures for the Stop Global Warming virtual march. We'll also be giving away cool freebies and delicious coffee (while supplies last), so stop by!

Wed., April 5th - 8:00pm
CC Maurer, NCSU Energy Conservation Coordinator
Join us in the Brooks Hall auditorium on the campus of the College of Design to learn about the ongoing energy crisis on the NCSU campus and how you can do something about it.

Thurs., April 6th - 8:00pm
Film Screening: "Oil On Ice"
We will be screening "Oil On Ice" - a documentary film about the plan to drill for oil in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge - in the Brooks Hall auditorium on the campus of the College of Design.

The finale event for the Spring Blackout Week will include a free concert on the basketball courts behind Carmichael Gymnasium. Come out and enjoy some great local (and semi-local) bands, as well as many other activities. We ask students, faculty, and staff of the University to turn out the lights in their dorms, offices, and classrooms and join us outside for a great night of entertainment.
