In 1986 Master Follick relocated to North Carolina after training with and helping Grandmaster Yi build the Sun Yi's Academy Headquarters in Topeka, KS. Soon Master Berger was recruited to instruct classes at the 2 new Sun Yi's Academy locations.

Dr. Ernie Knowles (NCS Professor Emeritus, Oceanography, Retired US Navy Sun Yi's Instructor) shepherded the charter which allows for Sun Yi's certified instructors to teach Traditional Taekwondo at NC State University.

Master Follick was 2nd Dan and Master Berger was 1st Dan.
