FAQs:
Is it okay if I can't arrive on time and/or have
to leave General Assembly (GA) meetings early?
Sure. We understand that you have other obligations--just don't make a
disruption when you come in or leave, and make sure that you sign in at
some point so we know that you attended! You can ask a friend what you
missed, talk to an Executive Board member and/or read the Meeting Minutes to make
sure you stay updated.
What if I can't get to the GA meetings at all?
There is no penalty for missed meetings, but this doesn't mean you shouldn't
try to make it to as many meetings as you can. We would love for everyone
to able to come to all of the General Assembly meetings, but you also
don't have to miss out just because you miss one meeting! Keep updated and get involved in other ways, such as proposing or planning projects.
I
have a conflict with the GA meetings because of class, work, etc. Is the
schedule ever going to change?
We try to keep the meetings on set days and times throughout each
semester, but may discuss changing the meeting schedule if it becomes apparent that there is a big problem for a lot of our members. Try to keep involved by talking in detail to other WESA
members about the meetings, and make sure to attend other planning meetings or events as they arise.
For the next semester, you may want to consider our schedule when planning your own. However, we'll be doing a lot of work outside of the GA meetings too,
so don't be too concerned if it's impossible for you to make it to them.
