Greetings SAAC Members,

The Society of Afrikan American Culture, the oldest and one of the most prominent African American organizations on campus, is pleased to welcome everyone to another academic year here at North Carolina State University.  Through political awareness, cultural affairs and community service, both in the University and Raleigh community, the Society seeks to maintain our Black identity and presence on campus. As President for the Society, I eagerly welcome the duties of representing the African American community in the legislative and executive systems here at NC State, as well as maintaining the purpose and goals originally beset for this organization.

Membership for the Society of Afrikan American Culture is open to all African American students on campus. While all Black students on campus are automatically members of the Society, I encourage and challenge everyone to become an active member and take advantage of the many opportunities the Society presents to become involved. The Society is here to represent the Afrikan American community and your time and opinions are not only welcomed but necessary. The executive board and I look forward to serving you this academic year in hopes of promoting continued involvement from the African American community on campus as we seek to continue to fulfill the mission for this organization.
