NCSU Student Fisheries Society

The Student Fisheries Society at North Carolina State is a subunit of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Fisheries Society. We promote the exchange of fisheries and aquatic science among students, faculty, and regional professionals. We also assist in the transition from an educational to a professional setting for fisheries science students.

The American Fisheries Society is the oldest and largest not-for-profit, professional society for government, academic, and industry scientists associated with conservation, development, and management of fishery resources in North America.

We have a large and active subunit at NC State. This webpage is designed as a forum for dissemination of subunit information and to encourage communication between various parties. Here you will find information on upcoming meetings (local, state, regional and parent), outreach events, research opportunities, links, job postings, and photos. While we strive to keep this information updated, this website is not necessarily inclusive; please contact any of us (under the People tab) for more information. Also, if you have an outreach idea or any other contributions to the unit, please let us know.
